Limewash, Roman Clay & Masonry Finishes
This page covers all of our specialty finish services — interior and exterior. Whether you're transforming a drywall accent wall or your home's brick exterior, you're in the right place.
Want to elevate your space beyond regular paint?
Limewash and Roman Clay bring depth, texture, and character to interior drywall that flat or eggshell paint simply can't replicate. These are the finishes you see in high-end homes, boutique hotels, and design magazines — and they're available right here in North Houston.

Portola Paints Limewash
Portola Limewash is a mineral-based paint — brushed on much like regular paint, with no heavy build-up and no change to your wall's texture. What sets it apart is the finish: instead of one flat color, the lime gently "blooms" as it cures into a soft, weathered patina with natural movement, highlights, and lowlights that ordinary paint simply can't produce.
- Soft, suede-like appearance with natural color variation
- Develops character and patina over time
- For interior drywall only
- Zero VOC — naturally mold resistant due to high pH
- 75+ handcrafted colors available
- Breathable, eco-friendly, no harsh odor

Roman Clay
Roman Clay is not applied like paint. It's troweled onto the wall by hand — much like spreading a thin coat of joint compound — and actually leaves your wall with a brand-new texture once it's done. That build-up burnishes to a smooth, plaster-like surface with real depth and dimensional movement, giving you a rich, velvety wall that's popular in entryways, living rooms, and anywhere you want a premium, designer look.
- Burnished finish with soft sheen and organic texture
- Applied by hand with a trowel — no two walls identical
- Durable and easy to clean
- Ideal for accent walls, entryways, and living spaces
- Pairs beautifully with warm lighting
- Romabio Roman Clay — wide palette of earthy, designer tones
Three products. Three distinct looks. One certified applicator.
All three of our exterior masonry finishes are Romabio products — mineral-based, breathable, and built for Houston's humidity. The right one depends on your surface and the look you're after.

Classico Limewash
The artistic one. Classico is for homeowners who want that European, antique, distressed look — soft, chalky layers that let the character of the brick show through. The level of distress is fully customizable, from subtle to dramatic.
- Authentic aged, distressed European aesthetic
- Translucent layers — brick character shows through
- Subtle or dramatic — fully in your control
- Breathable, mold resistant, no moisture trapping
- Interior and exterior brick and stone

Lime Slurry
Full coverage without looking like paint. Lime Slurry is much thicker than Classico — it goes on heavy, has a natural plaster-like texture, and dries looking like your brick came that way from the start. The choice when you want complete color transformation with zero paint appearance.
- Full coverage — no distressing, no wash-off
- Thick, textured finish — looks natural, not painted
- Hardens like plaster, applied like paint
- Can be tinted to a range of lighter tones
- Interior and exterior masonry

Venetian Glaze
Made for stone. Venetian Glaze shifts the color of your stone while keeping its natural undertones and texture intact. You still see the stone — it just reads in a new tone. The right call when you love your stone but want to update the color without losing what makes it look like stone.
- Color-shifts stone while preserving natural character
- Original stone undertones remain visible
- Translucent veiling effect — not opaque
- Interior and exterior stone surfaces
- Zero VOC, breathable, mineral-based
The same brick — reimagined.
A full limewash makes an aging brick exterior look like it was built that way. Same house, same brick — a completely new front elevation.

Certified on the products we use.
Romabio is the leading manufacturer of professional mineral finishes in the U.S. Their certification program trains applicators directly on product chemistry, surface prep, and application technique — because when these finishes go wrong, it's almost always a prep or application issue, not the product. We've completed that training and know these products from the chemistry up.
For interior limewash on drywall, we work with Portola Paints — one of the most respected specialty finish brands in the industry, known for their 75+ handcrafted limewash colors and consistent, professional-grade results.
"We're not just painters who picked up a new product. We understand these finishes the way we understand paint — from the prep to the final coat."
